Tremendous turnout first Clean-Up

We had a tremendous turnout for the April 21st Clean up Dornwood. From little-ones to retirees, they showed up by the scores to bring Dornwood back. Thanks to all who participated!

Invitation: Friends of Dornwood meeting (04/29/2012)

Please plan to attend an IMPORTANT FRIENDS OF DORNWOOD meeting this Saturday, April 28th, 9:30AM at the Echo Ridge Community Center, 2015 SE Market Street.

At this meeting we will organize a steering committee to work with John Knight in forming the FOD group which will be under the umbrella of the Shawnee County Parks Foundation. We will also discuss what we want to see for the near and far future for the park and how to accomplish it.

Many organizations, groups, businesses and individuals are participating in revitalizing Dornwood.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MEETING for individuals and groups who want to become part of the revitalization on Dornwood. It is the desire to make this a focus for all groups who wish to revitalize the East Side of Topeka in a joint endeavor.

Kansas First News: Beautification of Dornwood Park Kicks Off April 28

On April 11, Kansas First News reported about the efforts to “Bring Dornwood Back” interviewing¬†Sn. Co. Parks and Rec Director John Knight. “We’re working with both the Dornwood Girls Softball Association and the Highland Park Baseball Association in improving their facilities…just bringing Dornwood back,” said Sn. Co. Parks and Rec Director John Knight.

The cleanup event kicks off Saturday, April 21th, with help from service groups like “Keep America Beautiful.”
